This study research involves two secondary schools in the Seremban district of Negeri Sembilan. One is a boarding school (Sekolah Datuk Abdul Razak) while the other is a day school (Sekolah Menengah Jalan Sikamat). The purpose of the study is to gauge the type of school climate that exists in both schools. Aside from that, a comparison study is also done to see if boarding school and day school differs in school climate. The study will enable us to understand the perception of teachers and students in viewing their school climate. Lastly, it will help to answer an intriguing question whether there is a relationship between the school climate and the level of work satisfaction among teachers. 60 teachers and 80 pupils from both the school were chosen as respondents for the study. They were given the school climate profile questionnaire to answer. The researcher conducted interviews with several teachers and pupils so as to add greater emphasis and depth to the data obtained, during a one weel observation period at the schools. The findings of the study are as below: (1) Both schools have an open climate (2) Boarding school and day school do not show any difference in school climate (3) There is however a difference in perception between teachers and pupils in viewing their school climate (4) There is a significant relationship between the school climate and the working satisfaction of teachers. From the result, one can conclude that a boarding school may not necessarily have a more open climate compared to the day school, despite its various facilities that exist in the school. From the teachers perspective, the climate of the school is considered more open whereas students think otherwise. The more open the climate of the school, the higher the level of satisfaction and pleasure of teachers teaching there. The study supports a general assumption that teachers are more comfortable teaching in a school which experiences a more open climate.
